The merger with Hai Duong province has not only extended Hai Phong’s geographical scope but also enlarged its economic scale, making the city increasingly attractive to job seekers.
In the first six months of 2025, Hai Phong city organized 35 job transaction sessions and consultations on vocational training support policies for over 16,000 workers and introduced jobs to around 4,000 people. The total number of workers receiving employment consultation increased by approximately 50% compared to the same period last year.
This result was attributed to flexible coordination among relevant units and the diversification of job counseling methods, which contributed to improving the effectiveness of labor supply-demand connectivity.
Nguyen Thi Thanh, Head of the Employment Counseling and Vocational Training Department of the city Center for Employment Services and Care for People with Meritorious Services, said that in the past six months, 510 businesses in the city registered to recruit workers through job transaction sessions.
The center has been taking synchronous measures to assist employers in posting recruitment needs on its website, filming working environments, conducting on-site interviews with employees, and broadcasting them on digital platforms and online applications.
In addition to regular job transaction sessions, the center has also organized themed ones targeting employers with large recruitment needs, such as “VinFast Recruitment Day” and “Maple Job Festival.” For the first time, the center launched an online job session to connect businesses and job seekers through employment service centers nationwide.
Both businesses and workers benefit from these job transaction activities. “Participating in online job fairs helps us access a wide range of applicants across different age groups. Concentrated and quick organization of interviews make it easier for us to select and make hiring decisions without having to organize separate pre-screenings at our company,” said Dang Van Hoi, an HR officer at Hung Vuong Packaging JSC. in Hong Bang ward.
From the workers' side, many have found jobs that match their skills and expectations by following and participating in job fairs.
The merger with Hai Duong has not only expanded Hai Phong’s physical boundaries but also unlocked significant potential and advantages, elevating the city to the third-largest economy in Vietnam. This makes Hai Phong an increasingly attractive destination for workers seeking new opportunities.
Career guidance for future labor forces will also be intensified in the coming time. “We plan to advise the school leaders to work with relevant agencies to organize mobile job fairs right on campus. Our college will also expand its counseling space and diversify connection forms to improve employment introduction effectiveness,” said Do Duc Loi, Head of Student Affairs at Maritime - Inland Waterway College No.1.
Ho Hai, Deputy Director of the city Center for Employment Services and Care for People with Meritorious Services, said the center would continue to invest in infrastructure and recruit qualified personnel to improve the quality of information updates on its fanpage and website vieclamhaiphong.net. It also plans to promote corporate recruitment incentives to better inform the community and strengthen labor market connectivity between the eastern and western parts of the city.
In addition, the center is developing plans to coordinate online job sessions with enterprises under Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority and licensed organizations that send workers abroad.
The center will also actively promote cooperation with neighboring provinces and cities to broaden employment opportunities for workers.
