2% VAT reduction extends to end of 2026

Vietnam’s value-added tax (VAT) rate will be lowered to 8% for a broad range of goods and services specified in Clause 3, Article 9 of the Law on VAT.

VAT cut by 2% to continue from January to June 2025

The 15th National Assembly approved an extension of the 2% value-added tax (VAT) reduction. The extended policy will be effective from January 1, 2025 to June 30, 2025.
VAT reduction should continue until mid-2025: Ministry

The tax cut is useful in stimulating consumer demand, in addition, it also helps businesses recover and plan for their next growth phase.
