Hai Phong city is fully prepared and ready to coordinate and ensure the successful organization of key events within the 3rd Meeting of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC III), as well as sideline activities.
Taking place in Hai Phong city from July 15 - 18, ABAC III is a major event that will help elevate the profile of Vietnam in general and Hai Phong in particular in the eyes of leaders and delegates from 21 APEC member economies, multinational corporations, financial institutions, research and innovation centers, and international organizations.
This is also a valuable opportunity to promote Vietnam’s and Hai Phong’s business environment, economic potential, and investment and business incentive policies to regional and global leading business communities.
As of now, Hoang Van Thu bridge, Do Muoi and Tran Kien streets, and the area surrounding the city Convention and Performance Center, the main venue for key events, have been decorated with flags, banners, large posters, and panels promoting ABAC III, the Hai Phong Investment Promotion Conference themed “Hai Phong – A strategic destination of the new era,” as well as iconic images of the city.
The city Convention and Performance Center, a modern three-story facility with a total floor area of nearly 50,000 m2 and a 1,500-seat capacity, will host the Hai Phong Investment Promotion Conference. The main hall and multipurpose meeting rooms are undergoing final preparations to ensure the success of the event.
As one of the two main venues for ABAC III activities, Pullman Hai Phong Grand Hotel is also in full readiness. Pham Thi Thuy Linh, Director of the hotel’s Business Development, noted that drawing from their experience in hosting major events such as Techfest 2024, the welcome ceremony for the King and Queen of Belgium, and the 2025 Flamboyant Flower Festival, the hotel’s management board has directed all departments to gather maximum resources to meet the accommodation needs of hundreds of international guests during ABAC III.
At a recent briefing on the progress of ABAC III preparations, Secretary of the city Party Committee Le Tien Chau emphasized that hosting ABAC III in Hai Phong is a prime opportunity to promote the city's and Vietnam’s investment policies and environment, thereby encouraging greater business and investment activities from APEC member economies.
Chau affirmed that this is a golden opportunity to showcase the country’s trade and investment potential, brand, people, culture, and economy, especially the dynamic port city of Hai Phong, in the eyes of regional and global entrepreneurs and economic powerhouses.
Alongside ABAC III, the city expects to grant investment licenses for projects worth a total of around 15 billion USD at the Hai Phong Investment Promotion Conference.
The Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority has deployed its best personnel and is closely coordinating with relevant departments and agencies to organize the conference, scheduled for the afternoon of July 15.
The agenda is carefully designed to align with Hai Phong’s investment promotion goals and the APEC business community. It will focus on practical, internationally-relevant topics to attract both domestic and foreign investors, and to strongly promote Hai Phong’s exceptional investment potential environment, including a southern coastal economic zone with the city’s targeted incentive policies, specific mechanisms and policies, the piloting of a new-generation free trade zone, and investment opportunities, thereby reinforcing Hai Phong’s status as a key growth engine and ideal destination for domestic and foreign investors.
