Hai Phong wins seven gold medals at National Youth Table Tennis Championship

Western Hai Phong city (formerly Hai Duong province) continues to affirm its position as one of the nation’s top centers for youth table tennis training.

The organizing committee presents medals to athletes in the women’s team event

The 2025 National Youth Table Tennis Championship officially concluded at the Ninh Binh Provincial Gymnasium on July 13 afternoon after a week of intense and exciting competition.

The Western Hai Phong team (from the former Hai Duong province) participated in the tournament with a strong lineup of 46 athletes and three coaches. With consistent form and a well-balanced squad across multiple age categories, the team delivered an impressive performance, capturing gold in seven events.

The gold medals belonged to Bui Ngoc Lan, Nguyen Thi Mai Phuong, Cao Ngoc Anh, and Le Gia Han in the women’s U22–23 team event; Nguyen Duy Phong, Dinh Quang Minh, Bui Huu Huy, and Vu Minh Thanh in the men’s U20–21 team event; and Nguyen Hai Trung, Nguyen Vu Hoang Nam, Bui Trong Hien, and Nguyen Van Hai Anh in the men’s U16–17 team event.

In addition, the team won gold in the women’s U16–17 team event with Cao Ngoc Ha, Pham Hoang Bao Ngoc, Nguyen Ngoc Kim Ngan, and Doan Thi Bich Ngan; the women’s U22–23 doubles event, where Bui Ngoc Lan paired with Nguyen Xuan Mai from Ho Chi Minh city; the men’s U20–21 doubles event with the pair Dinh Quang Minh and Bui Huu Huy; and the men’s U14–15 doubles event, where Nguyen Duc Viet teamed up with Nguyen Van Tuan Anh from the People’s Public Security T&T team.

This achievement further strengthens the reputation of Western Hai Phong as a key training hub for Vietnam’s youth table tennis, contributing to a high-quality pipeline of future national talent.

This year’s tournament attracted nearly 1,000 athletes and coaches from 37 provinces, cities, and sectors across the country, competing in numerous events spanning eight different age groups.
